WellKiwis (ESR) needed to recruit hundreds of families for a global influenza vaccine study at a time when public trust in vaccination was at a very low ebb. The target? Pregnant women, who would be committing their unborn babies to years of study participation, starting in the delivery suite. We identified the right imagery, framing, and narrative tone to help cut through hesitancy, and built a transparent, culturally aware communications approach. The result was strong engagement, fresh confidence, and successful recruitment in one of the toughest environments for public-health participation: the afterglow of Covid-19.
Explore: auditing your operating environment
Every approach begins with a deep examination of the context in which you engage every day. Our robust approach to research and semiotic analysis discovers the current language, behaviour, barriers, opportunities and cultural life and times that will inform your organisation’s future positioning.
Strategise: framing your story
Your strategy might include a core story, elevator pitch, message territories, risk analysis, visual direction, audience analysis or a rundown on the “loose ends” you need to tidy up right away.
Everything is bespoke. What’s important is that it will make sense to you.
Land: getting your stakeholders’ attention
We don’t believe that culture eats strategy for breakfast; a good strategy will be dripping with culture. This is why implementing the strategy is bespoke, too. In today’s modern media environment, it’s going to be necessary to find the channels and messaging that work for you and your audience, both.
We look. You leap.
